You may be familiar with the image on the cap of this pen: it’s a rendering of ‘The Great Wave off Kanagawa’ (also known as Kanagawa oki nami ura), often considered the most recognizable work of Japanese art in the world. You can see Mount Fuji in the distance as the great waves overtake a small boat.
Artwork on the barrel is inspired by the same artist, Hokusai, from his work, “Kajikazawa in Kai Province.” Both images are part of the famous series, “Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji.” This pen is a continuation of the artistry and brilliance of Hokusai, who is considered one of the greatest artists in Japanese history.
