About the Artisan:
This pen was hand-painted by Wakako Todo (Yusai). Born in 1960. She is an established maki-e artisan who was trained by her husband Tatsuya Todo (Kosetsu, who is another artisan that works with Danitrio). The themes she prefers the most in her artwork are nature motifs like flowers and animals, and geometric designs. She has had her pieces exhibited in numerous urushi exhibitions.
